Wichita, Kansas — Today, NetWork Kansas announced the hiring of Janet Miller, who joins the staff as Manager, Rural Entrepreneurship, Southeast Region. In her role, Miller will oversee 10 leadership teams in Southeast Kansas that include the following locations: Allen, Altamont, Anderson, Bourbon, Chautauqua, Cherokee, Girard, Linn, Montgomery and Neosho.
Miller brings extensive economic development experience to NetWork Kansas having served as the Director at Cherokee County Economic Development, Economic Development Director at Laredo Community College and an Enterprise Facilitator in Northeast Kansas providing business consulting services to hundreds of entrepreneurs.
“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Janet for most of my seventeen years at NetWork Kansas, first in her role as an Enterprise Facilitator in Northeast Kansas, and most recently as the economic development director in Cherokee County, said Erik Pedersen, President and Chief Operating Officer of NetWork Kansas. She was our point of contact for Cherokee County E-Community and is well versed in all NetWork Kansas loan funds as well as our Board Certified programs.
She’s an ideal fit for this role.
Prior to being employed by NetWork Kansas, Millers connections with the organization include:
· Serving as Cherokee County E-Community point person since 2015
· Creating & hosting the Cherokee County Youth Entrepreneur Fair annually from 2015-2022
· Being certified as an Ice House Facilitator facilitated classes in 2018 (twice), 2019, & 2021
· Being certified as a Destination Creation Course Facilitator facilitated a class in 2020
· Attending Maker Space Boot Camp at Independence Community College
· Hosting a Makers Camp for local junior high students

Miller, who resides in Columbus, Kansas, holds a Bachelors Degree in Agribusiness from Kansas State University, a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics from Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate from The University of Oklahomas Economic Development Institute.
