Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge

Taking the Entrepreneurship stage by storm for its second year

Wichita, Kansas, — Camp Destination Innovation, in partnership with NetWork Kansas, is gearing up for the 2nd annual Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge. This event is designed to engage youth, spark innovation, and creativity in a time of social distancing, for a chance to win cash prizes. With over 140 submissions in 2020, it is anticipated for an even higher turn out for its second year.

“We were delightfully surprised with the overwhelmingly positive responses we received for our first-ever Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge,” said Marquetta Atkins, Founder of Destination Innovation, Inc. (dba Camp Destination Innovation). “With over 145 young people across the state of Kansas who registered, the event was a success and the request inquiring when the next event will be held came immediately. Well, we are answering your call, with more time to prepare for this year’s KYVC competition!”

The virtual competition will be held through NetWork Kansas’ VentureDash tool. VentureDash is an online entrepreneurship competition management system helping to streamline the facilitation of entrepreneurship fairs and business plan competitions held throughout the state with over 50 competitions hosted on its platform this year alone.

“The Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge has challenged and inspired my sons like nothing I’ve experienced before. Sure they’ve been involved with academics and sports, but to see them thinking outside the box about how they could change and impact our world was incredible,” said Sara Bloom, parent of children that completed the program. “Both sat down and really brainstormed their interests and how those interests, even skateboarding, could possibly impact their community. It forced them to think of others, to think of finances, to think of marketing. The businesses they pitched may not be in operation, but they could be, and that alone dares them to keep dreaming and dreaming big.”

Submissions will open July 1st with judging taking place the week of July 26th and winners announced on August 2nd. Students split into three divisions (elementary, middle school, and high school) will compete in a virtual video pitch competition for their chance to win prizes:
