Riverbank Brewing First Business to Receive Funding from Morris County Entrepreneurship (E-) Community Partnership

Council Grove, Kansas – Riverbank Brewing is the first small business to receive funding through the Morris County E-Community revolving loan fund, which was established in July of 2020.  A traditional commercial loan, matched with a low interest rate E-Community Loan was able to help entrepreneurs and co-owners, Jesse & Deidre Knight, Joshua & Lindsay Gant, and Pat Atchity with equipment and other crucial pieces to complete the interior and production needs of the brewery.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the local support of the Morris County E-Community, GMDC and Farmers and Drovers Bank,” said Lindsay Gant, co-owner of Riverbank Brewing. “This funding helps our dream of creating a new business that contributes to the economic growth in our rural community come to fruition. We have such a passion for community engagement and connection; we’re excited for Riverbank Brewing to add to that.” Gant added.

The renovation and remodeling of the future location of Riverbank Brewing at 13 W. Main Street in Council Grove is currently underway with a targeted opening scheduled for the summer of 2021.  Follow their remodeling progress, along with updated information and offerings at riverbankbrewing.com or find them on Instagram and Facebook.

Tracy Henry, Greater Morris County Development Corporation (GMDC) Executive Director worked with the owners to complete their loan application as a final piece to the puzzle of their funding needs, E-Community Loan Funds through the Morris County E-Community. These are gap funds used to partner with lending institutions to help projects such as Riverbank Brewing come to fruition. “Supporting and encouraging entrepreneurship in Morris County is a goal of the GMDC.  Our partnership with NetWork Kansas allows us the opportunity to locally control funding access to best suit the needs of communities throughout Morris County” said Henry.  “Through collaboration within our E-Community we are able to support projects that impact the economy of Morris County.”  The GMDC is proud to be working with Farmers and Drovers Bank on this project to support the business environment in Council Grove and Morris County.
