Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge

A Virtual Pitch Competition for Kansas Youth

Wichita, Kansas— April 23, 2020 — Camp Destination Innovation has partnered with Network Kansas for the first-ever Kansas Youth Virtual Entrepreneurship Challenge, an event designed to engage currently quarantined youth and spark innovation and creativity for a chance to win cash prizes. Both Camp Destination Innovation and NetWork Kansas work to expose youth to entrepreneurial thinking, get their creativity flowing, and help them think outside the box to develop an entrepreneurial mindset regardless of their circumstances.

“Youth around the state are adjusting to a new and hopefully temporary normal, as are parents,” said Marquetta Atkins, Founder of Destination Innovation, Inc. (dba Camp Destination Innovation). “This event is an opportunity for young people to take a break from the stress of the current climate and just have fun, while inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.”

The virtual competition will be held through NetWork Kansas’ new VentureDash tool. VentureDash is an online entrepreneurship competition management system designed to streamline the facilitation of entrepreneurship fairs and business plan competitions held throughout the state. The system was created by Moonbase Labs based out of Wichita.

Beginning, April 27^th and ending May 11^th, students in three divisions (elementary, middle school and high school) will compete in a virtual video pitch competition for their chance to win prizes:

Elementary:   
1^st Place- $300.00
2^nd Place -$150.00
3^rd Place-$100.00

Middle School: 
1^st place -$500.00
2^nd Place- $250.00
3^rd Place – $150.00

High School:  
1^st Place-$1,000
2^nd Place-$350.00
3^rd Place- $250.00

Camp Destination Innovation is a Wichita, Kansas camp that offers programs designed to expose youth ages 14-18 to careers outside of traditional norms with targeted focus on entrepreneurship.
